--------------------------------------------- PLANET ANOMALY ALERT 2005 #9 (issued 22-Jul, 03:25 UT) --------------------------------------------- OGLE 2005-BLG-226 shows significant peak anomaly Dear Colleagues, The ongoing data stream from our Danish 1p5 observatory at LaSilla on OGLE-2005-BLG-226 indicates that this event has risen about more than 1 mag above the best point-source-single-lens fit. The shape of the anomaly indicates a caustic entry may have occured around MHJD=3573.2. Of course it is too early to say yet, if the anomaly is of planetary origin but in any case follow up photometric and multiband observations are strongly encouraged to constrain the parameter space of this very interesting anomaly. A light curve plot and data files for this event are available on our webpage http://planet.iap.fr/currentevents.html, which is frequently updated. Event: OGLE 2005-BLG-226 RA (J2000): 17:44:40.53 Dec (J2000): -34:09:08.8 The baseline I magnitude reported by the OGLE team is 16.66 For more information: PLANET: http://planet.iap.fr OGLE: http://www.astrouw.edu.pl/~ftp/ogle/ -------------- On behalf of the PLANET collaboration Daniel Kubas (live from the Danish)
